Minnesota Life Insurance Company was founded in 1880 and is based in St. Paul, Minnesota. Minnesota Life has more than nine million clients throughout the U.S. The company accumulates upwards of $29 billion in assets and offers over $665 billion in life insurance coverage. Minnesota Life is comprised of more than 5,000 associates and field representatives at their St. Paul headquarters and in offices throughout the U.S.
The Minnesota Life Insurance Company aims to "use the power of ingenuity and the spirit of mutuality to create financial security and long-term value for their customers." Minnesota Life provides these insurance products for their clients: Individual Financial Security — provides individual life insurance and annuities. Financial Services — markets and underwrites insurance products for financial institution customers nationwide. Group Insurance — provides consultative services and customized group life insurance programs for employers with 1,000 or more employees. Retirement Services — specializes in 401(k) full-service plans and defined benefit programs. Asset Management — provides asset management services to Minnesota Life and to other insurance companies and other institutional investors. Minnesota Life has two affiliate subsidiaries; Securian Financial Services, a Minnesota Life's affiliated broker and Securian Trust Company.
